Whatever Your Goal, we’ve got a coach and an approach that will work for you.

  • Becky (Taylor) Anthony

Meet the founder and OG coach of Taylored Training.

After a decade in science education, Becky made a career pivot to merge her love of running with her love of education and helping others. In 2020 she launched Taylored Training to help runners achieve their goals and hasn’t looked back since.

She holds a VDOTO2 coaching certification and has had the pleasure of coaching athletes from young adults to “yes even your age”, working with all gender identities, and all ability levels. Whether you’re looking to run your very first 5k or to chase an ambitious time in any distance, she’s got experience and enthusiasm for all big scary goals.

As a former teacher, Becky has a soft spot for working with people who have crazy schedules and struggle to figure out how to get the most of their training while also balancing a very full plate. Becky started running as conditioning for swimming in high school and then transitioned from swimming, to a brief triathlon stint, to finally exclusively running in 2010 when she had to make more time efficient choices with her training.

Now as a runner she prioritizes having a balanced approach to training, focusing on different race distance throughout the year, strength training, and the pillars of health that support recovery and performance like sleep, nutrition, and stress management.

Becky now lives in Phoenix, Arizona (but has lived in WI, MN, MS, and CT) with her husband, newborn son, and dog.

  • Jarred Ervin

Jarred is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and now residing in Phoenix, Arizona. He can usually be found running in one of the mountain ranges around the Southwest. His running career began with faking sick on "mile day" during gym class back in middle school (Sorry mom). To impress a girl, he signed up for a local 5k and a half marathon. After injuries from other sports in college and a stressful job working within Social Work, he began to increase his mileage and immerse himself in the world and community of running to cope with stress and to stay active.

Not knowing where to begin or how to start training, he started watching and reading every documentary, article, and book on running, nutrition, and strength training. He tried different training philosophies and programs over the years for marathons and other distances but found himself not enjoying the runs and workouts in the program and often feeling burnout. Within the first two years of living in Phoenix, he began to work at one of the oldest run specialty stores on the West Coast. There he learned more about footwear, gear, proper hydration and fueling... It truly opened his eyes to a new world of running and the power of the running community.

After several years of self-coaching, he decided to begin working with a run coach who he knew from the Phoenix running community. In his first two years with his coach, he saw his personal records get shattered in every distance from 5k to 50k and he ran his first Boston qualifying marathon. His training wasn't drastically different from what he had been doing, but the biggest change was the constant feedback, motivation, and accountability that made all the difference.

Jarred is a firm believer that a positive mindset and attitude can go a long distance and can make or break a runner. He has coached runners from middle school cross country to family and friends training for their first 5k and marathon. After years of swearing he would never run more than a 5k, he now finds himself regularly lining up at road marathons and trail ultra-marathons. His favorite part of running is helping other runners meet their goal whether that be through pacing at races or coaching. He likes to think his love for running is contagious.
